Superhero Support is a Maryland based charity that brings the joy of superheroes to children through visits to schools, hospitals, libraries, and charitable events. This group has mastered superhero cosplay and are expert creators and influencers.

Rebel Legion: Terrapin Base

Terrapin Base is part of the Rebel Legion, an international Star Wars costuming fan club focused on the heroes of the Star Wars universe. We wear our costumes to inspire, to bring joy, and to support charity.

The Rebel Legion is a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization comprised of and operated by Star Wars fans. While not sponsored by Lucasfilm Ltd., it is a Lucasfilm-recognized volunteer costuming fan group. 501st Legion

The Old Line Garrison is Maryland's own chapter of the 501st Legion, the international Star Wars cosplay group.

Our local Mando Clan, Kyrimorut, will be on hand. They are a group of professional cosplayers right here in Maryland that specialize in unique styles and takes on Mandalorian armor and garb.

RisuCon Cosplay Contest

The RisuCon Cosplay Contest is held in the afternoon, in the Heritage building, on the main stage. Entrants will need to sign up and be pre-judged for craftsmanship (yes, we take our cosplay seriously). The contest and judging is run exclusively by our partners, Superhero Support.

Cosplay Judge: Brian

Founder & President, Superhero Support Inc.
Brian brings more than a decade of cosplay expertise and community leadership to the RisuCon judging panel. As the Founder and President of Superhero Support Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Brian has transformed his passion for cosplay and nonprofit causes into a powerful force for good. Since establishing Superhero Support in 2015, he has led a team of over 30 volunteer "causeplayers" who bring joy and hope to children's hospitals, libraries, schools, and community events throughout Maryland and beyond.

Cosplay Judge: Otto

Active Community Volunteer & Superhero Support Member
Otto Masaya has been a dedicated member of Superhero Support Inc since December 2019, bringing years of community service experience to his cosplay judging role. His commitment to youth development spans nearly two decades, including volunteer work as a soccer coach for elementary-age children, youth martial arts instructor at local community centers, and active participation in the Boy Scouts of America as an assistant scoutmaster, den leader, and member of the Order of the Arrow.

Creative Cosplayer & Community Advocate
Tia Cherie Polite-Jones brings a fresh perspective and creative energy to the RisuCon judging panel as an active member of the cosplay community. With a passion for character portrayal and costume design, Tia understands the dedication, skill, and artistry required to bring beloved characters to life. Her involvement with Superhero Support Inc demonstrates her commitment to using cosplay as a positive force in the community.
